Kerala Artistes’ Fraternity

Kerala Artistes’ Fraternity is a collective of the artistes’, by the artistes‘ and for the artistes’. The sole objective of this organisation is to bring all artistes’ under one umbrella for better collective bargaining for welfare measures. Artistes‘ from all disciplines of performing arts, such as music, dance, theatre (drama), instrument makers, sound and light technicians, should come under the wings of KAF. There are varying estimates of the number of artistes’ in Kerala. One estimate shows that there could be four lakh. As a collective voice of the artistes’ fraternity, KAF aims to mobilise help for our members in distress. In times of emergency, like the Covid19 crisis or the floods that wreaked havoc in our state, KAF can be the right platform for collective bargaining for the members’ welfare. Since most of us lack a safety net in the event of an emergency, KAF can provide help to the needy artistes’. A health emergency would be an ideal example of how this venture could benefit its members. As an organisation, KAF can also contribute to the society as a single unit, rather than scattered groups of artistes’. Each and every artiste’s in Kerala is welcome to join KAF and wait for further information on our activities. In a rather unique gesture, KAF also welcomes art-lovers to join as our honorary members and be part of this revolution set to unfold in the entertainment industry of our beautiful God’s Own Country.
